Every girl deserves a beautiful pearl necklace and I'm not talking the faux kind either. A nice classic piece that pretty much complements just about any outfit. Pearls have always held a special place in the jewelry industry and with the availability of fresh water pearls there really isn't a reason not to own one.
So no surprise that pearls were the number one jewelry choice for my 10 year wedding vow renewal a couple months back, I'll be blogging about my vow renewal in a few weeks so stay tuned :)
Me and my beautiful mama
Back to my pearls, I am not your run of the mill single strand necklace girl, so I had to come up with a piece that spoke to my aesthetic and the neckline of my dress.
My design process all happens in my head and can be a little chaotic :) with lots of revisions before I finally settle on my final piece. I usually procrastinate when it comes to making my own jewelry, drives my mum crazy and this time was no different :)
God really came through for me on this one, I went to bed the night before not certain if I would have any jewelry to wear the next day.
Come D-day I had the necklace done in 2 hours..I was up at 6am and had to be at the venue to start decorating at 8am. The necklace was done by 8.10, quickest necklace I ever made, no revisions, and it fit perfectly. A true project runway moment LOL.
I've gotten to wear "ABI" (named after one of my spunky nieces) a few times for other occasions and I get huge compliments each time.

One last coke for the night, LOL
He called this his "pimp" jacket when we bought it. My conservative boo, the things I put him up too :)
I've had to tweak the design a little for my conservative clients but I still love the result.
Do you have your perfect pearl necklace?
